The Moon is bright:
By Uncle Butch
It's Halloween, the moon is bright
You just might see a witch tonight
Past the moon she just might fly
way up in the dark night sky
but if you see her on the ground
just sneak away, don't make a sound,
cause you know, she'd think it dandy,
if she could turn you into candy.
All the ghosts are out to play
and you don't want to try and chase them away
Just remember what I just said
and if they come hide under the bed.
There used to be a man who rode a horse,
he didn't have a head of course.
He rode that horse even in the rain
and scared the heck out of Ichabod Crane
So if there's a teacher who's mean to you
you don't have to hit him with a shoe.
Talk them into going in the woods at night
The headless horsemen will give them an awful fright.
This little rhyme is just my way
to introduce you, on this day
to a story I read as a little boy
a story that gave me a lot of joy.
I hope you read it and have some fun
and tell me all about it when you are done.
Reading is nice, reading is a joy,
for every little girl and boy
You don't have to look it up, you don't have to think
All you have to do is follow this link.
