Back I can't believe it!
I Just read on (CNN) that a majority of Americans think George Bush is doing a good job. Let's take a look at what has happened. During the four years since he took office the national dept has sky rocketed; the dollar has plummeted, more jobs were lost then at almost any time since the great depression, the trade deficit is out of sight, health care cost have gone sky high, more people are without health insurance then any time in the last 20 years, we are facing a shortage in flu vaccine. The tax breaks for the rich have, if anything, left the middle class in worse shape the ever and haven't created the jobs the administration said they would. The price of oil is way up & nothing has been done in the area of conservation of energy. So much for the economy.
We are in a war in Iraq that we didn't need to fight & that war has increased the amount of terrorists around the World. We haven't caught bin Ladin, we haven't secured Iraq, Afghanistan is the number one supplier of Opium in the world because we are in Iraq & only left a token number of troops in Afghanistan. We are betting the store on the elections in Iraq that most probably will give us another Iran. (We don't know for sure, but I'm willing to take your bets if you think otherwise.)
At home we haven't even passed any bill to overhaul our national intelligence agencies, are borders are dangerously under protected, as are are chemical & nuclear plants, railroads, ports, and just about everything else. We have lost some (no most.) of our top intelligence agents and now we've lost the one sane leader in the administration, (Colin Powell)
The environmental protection that we put in place to save a healthy world for our children has been nothing less then raped. We reneged on the Kyoto Protocol on global warming without even trying to make changes. Bush says we can't afford it. Turning your back on scientific facts won't change them.
As for the world, Israel has had more deaths in the last four years then in the prior twelve combined, Korea has forged ahead with it's nuclear weapons program, as has Iran.
I could go on but I not going to. I let you think of a few more. Hint no child left behind. He has accomplished all this with a republican majority in both the House & Senate and now he has even more seats in both houses. Let's see what he does with his mandate.
Now for you who think that what he's done is good, I can only ask you what the Hell is bad?
Oh! I will add this. We are more divided then we have been since Viet Nam.
Maybe we should make a change "One nation under Bush, divisible, without liberty or justice for all." (The Patriot Act, the way it stands.)
