Open Hearth Cooking:  The Dairy at Pennsbury Manor  Before the milk goes bad, the cooks will be demonstrating the cheesemaking process from rennet to buttermaking, and will prepare Gulielma Penn’s receipt for chesstarts as well as other 17th-century receipts (recipes) from dairy products. 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

   Beer Brewing:  At Pennsbury Manor  Brewing in Penn’s time was “an art and a mystery” rather than a science.  It was also an important household task and industry.  Visit Penn’s Brew House and see how beer and ale were made in early Pennsylvania.  You can savor the pungent scent of malted barley and hops while the brewers discuss their art.  1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
