Back                                                                 Rush Limbaugh

I've had Rush on my list of Hypocrites ever since I started writing about politics, but he has finally reached an all time low. This Demigod of the Right has been distorting facts and smearing people ever since he's been on the radio but this last one takes the cake and for a man who was illegally using drugs while complaining about drug users, It was totally hypocritical.
Michael J. Fox did a political ad for Missouri Democrat Claire McCaskill, running against Republican Sen. James M. Talent. He used his stand for embryonic stem cell research as a reason to vote for McCaskill. Now, no matter how you feel about the research, you have to agree that reasonable people have the right to disagree.
The problem wasn't the research but that in doing the commercial Michael allowed himself to be filmed showing the symptoms of his Parkinson's disease. Here is a quote from Limbaugh:
"He is exaggerating the effects of the disease," Limbaugh told listeners. "He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act. . . . This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting."
Afterwards he would apologize but only to resume his vindictive attack:
"Now people are telling me they have seen Michael J. Fox in interviews and he does appear the same way in the interviews as he does in this commercial," Limbaugh said, according to a transcript on his Web site. "All right then, I stand corrected. . . . So I will bigly, hugely admit that I was wrong, and I will apologize to Michael J. Fox, if I am wrong in characterizing his behavior on this commercial as an act". People, That's not what I would call an apology
   He went on to say:
"Michael J. Fox is allowing his illness to be exploited and in the process is shilling for a Democratic politician."
Funny he didn't seem to mind when in 2004 Michael campaigned for Arlen Specter (R) (Senate) Pa. on the same issue.  Again I ask you. Why is it that all the right wing pundits complain when someone who has suffered a loss, or has a disease uses that in order to make a political point. Don't they have a right to voice their opinion? Do they have to give up that right too? And if they do should they hide the symptoms of their disease or pain. After all that is the reason they are in the fight in the first place. How many times have I seen a woman crying because she decided to have an abortion, then changed her mind, doing an anti abortion ad. Have you ever heard a complaint by a Democrat about her crying?
Rush was joined by many other right wing Demigods: I heard many of them defending his remarks. Ann Coulter, The Demigoddess of uncontrollable hate, almost all of the Fox News army of idiots, and Glenn Beck, who picked out the "or" in Rush's statement as his defense of the statement: "Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting." (Then as Hannity, the Demigod of misleading statements.) went on to say how Michael had said that when he testified to the congress he purposely didn't take his medicine. People are we that stupid? If your trying to show what a disease does to the human body why the hell would you cover up the symptoms with medication?
For his insensitivity and his hypocrisy he receives 5 *s as a blooming idiot.   Al
