   Sita sees a golden deer and asks Rama to get it for  
her. He refuses but she pleads and he gives in, and  
leaving Laksmana to protect her, goes after the deer.  
   Later they hear a scream and Sita thinking Rama is in  
peril tells Laksmana to go to his aid. Laksmana,  
fearing a trick, doesn't want to leave her but when  
Sita tells him he is a coward and is really afraid to go,  
he storms off to find Rama. With both men gone  
Ravana takes the opportunity to take Sita captive  
and spirit her away.  
Rama returns to find Sita gone and the hunt for her  
begins.
