Sledding can be a lot of fun but if your not careful you could get HURT. Some things to remember when sledding are:
.
1. NEVER sled on a hill that will spill you onto/or crosses a road.  Read this:
  a. A driver may not see you coming. You could get hit.
  b. Snow will melt on a road faster then the hill & if the sled stops fast you probably won't and the gravel, concrete or
      asphalt is a hard landing.
2. Watch the location of trees or uneven ground, a small bump could be a large one if your going fast enough and we
know we don't to use trees as brakes.
3. When sledding on a crowded hill make sure you give other kids plenty of space especially if you/or they are using a
    sled with metal runners.
4. As with ice skating or riding a bike, safety equipment would be a good idea. a helmet & good gloves are a good idea.
I've seen some nice cuts on kids hands from sled runners.
5. If the hill empties onto a lake or creek, make sure the ice on that surface is frozen good & you won't be sledding into
skaters. That a good way to break legs and/or get faces cut by skate blades.
6. Tip Don't wash your face with soap in the morning, just let the skin's natural oils protect you from the elements - it
works much better than expensive creams !
