    On Monkey Forest Rd. in Ubud for U. S. $20.00 I had a spacious fan cooled  room with a large bath & hot water. It had a nice deck like porch with a table & three chairs. every morning I would find a fresh pot of coffee on that table along with a set up for three. I could have my meals delivered to my room or eat at a little dinning area by the pool which was large & clean with plenty of lounge chairs & tables. My room was cleaned daily with fresh towels placed in the bathroom & the bed made with clean sheets. The only geckos were on the porch and the walls & ceiling of the dinning area. The service was excellent and the food was very good. It was only a short walk to the main street of Ubud in one direction and an even shorter walk to the monkey forest in the other. Just down the street in a temple yard I saw the Ramayana ballet & a trance dance. Your right in the middle of everything you go to Bali for. I give it **** Price includes breakfast.                                                                                         Puri Raci home stay:
    Just outside of Ubud on the road to Denpasar the Puri Raci is about a twenty minute walk to downtown Ubud. It also cost me U. S. $20.00. A niceplace with a small pool & clean rooms. If you like to hike, not only do you have the hike into town but you can go back past the pool, cross a small creek & your right in the famous rice fields. There are trails through the fields and also one along the creek. On one hike I ended up at an artist's studio that sat on a rise right in the middle of a one of the rice paddies. The service was good but I can only give *** because of it's location. Price includes breakfast.
     
                                                             Suri Wathi Beach House:                
    Kuta Beach, Bali.  Not the greatest place but for U. S. $6.00 a night with breakfast it wasn't bad. The rooms were small but clean and you had your own Mandi (Bathroom) with hot water & a shower. The staff are great fun & you'll always find a lot of Aussies to party with. It's right in the center of everything and a two block walk to the beach. give it ** but it gets *** for fun. I recommend it for singles ages 18 through 35 though there were some young couples & they seemed to enjoy the atmosphere. Jl. Sahadewa 12.
